Vice President, Data Strategy & Operations recruitment
Standard Poor's Ratings Services is seeking to hire a Global VP of Data Stewardship. This key role is responsible for delivering functional, business, and data analysis capabilities that support the development of internal and external applications. The function also ensures efficiency and standardization in the processes governing collection, synchronization, and accessing data in a flexible and systematic manner for our business partners.
The essential accountabilities and priorities for this role include:
- Partnering with the Information Technology organization, especially with the Data Services team, to leverage technical advancements to improve data management capabilities supporting the Ratings business.
- Staff management of Stewardship. This position manages and is supported by lead stewards including: Ratings Reference Stewardship,?Corporate Government Stewardship,?Structured Finance Stewardship, ?Data Governance and Global Ratings Reporting (GRRG), and Data Support Center; to include the the strategic and day-to-day relationships with each individual business unit it supports
- Serve as a key contributor to SP's overall data strategy and the mechanism to ensure continued business and technical alignment to it.
In addition:
- Work with project teams to ensure they have an understanding of the Data Development Lifecycle and the value it delivers
- Facilitate the sharing of experiences and ideas of good data management practices across data teams throughout SP including data practices within the business unit themselves
The selected individual must be able to work closely with project teams of 10+ individuals from different disciplines (IT, Project Management); deliver data flow artifacts and conceptual data solution diagrams to drive solutions that could include implementation of 5+ different data sources; and deliver data flow artifacts and conceptual data diagrams to drive solutions behind the analytical process for analysts and external clients.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of data management experience.
- Thorough knowledge of multiple data domains (Pricing, reference, fundamentals, structured finance).
- Proven leadership skills, especially as it pertains to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and mentor talent and capitalize on strengths within the organization.
- Global mindset.
