Detail:
- Senior level analytical skills and an advanced understanding of RE knowledge and terminology.
- To oversee or personally execute the research, analysis and narrative parts of loan underwriting and reporting on multiple property types.
- To professionally and competently manage all aspects of site visits including mentoring junior staff on site visits. To oversee all aspects of fieldwork as well as subject property’s competitive position and provide feedback to clients on findings and conclusions.
- To understand and handle property level financial information including: correlating, auditing and testing historical financials, expense recovery calculations, and tax returns.
- Responsible for demonstrating a complete understanding of underwriting
- Managing tenant level information including financial trends and credit ratings, stock market capitalisation and key financial ratios pertaining to public and private companies.
- To identify and understand the client’s scope of work as regards to third party reports. In addition to having basic overview understanding of third party reports, must also be able to utilise the three basic valuation methods for appraisals.
- To close files, and calculate escrow, utilising methods for recognition and mitigation of risk. This position requires proficiency in business writing skills.
- Directing junior level staff in meeting project deadlines as well as basic management duties such as employee development and performance reviews, communicating clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
- Developing employees for maximum performance and future advancement when possible.
- Interfacing and managing at least one client from a client relationship perspective.
- Building relationships and rapport with clients at the vice president and associate level.
- Work in partnership with clients on job analysis and process.
- Act as the lead point-of-contact for Situs with bankers.
- Develop business relationships with director level bankers.
- Enhance revenue generation with existing client relationships.
- Interface with external financial professional at all levels.
- Works independently on projects and also collaborates ‘face to face’ as a team player.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Work experience requirements:
- Typically minimum of 6 years industry experience either in commercial real estate or banking or both.
- Experience as a VP/Assoc Director or possibly already at Director level from a larger organization.
Skills:
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of UK real estate (other European jurisdictions would be a benefit.
- Good experience of underwriting either new or legacy loans
- Commercial real estate development experience
- Has full understanding of borrower or sponsor level information such as financial statements and tax returns
- A comprehensive understanding of most asset types and leases.
- A working knowledge of tenant level and borrower level credit overviews.
- A full working knowledge of third party company providers.
- A full knowledge of third party reports for Valuations, building surveys and environmental reports
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Comprehensive understanding of overall due diligence process
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent understanding of RE and RE terminology
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to interact with clients and related parties via telephone or in person
- Basic management skills and abilities
Essential Computer Skills Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of the following is required:
- MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word.
Required Education from an accredited Institution:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance or related experience and skills
- MRICS or CFA a benefit
