Position summary

Part of an expanding team of dynamic and highly motivated sales professionals, the role covers new business sales of our pricing and risk solutions in banking, energy and insurance.   It typically requires the incumbent to visit prospective clients in the UK and EMEA, frequently with other members of the team, working out of the Markit London office.

Duties accountabilities

• Personally undertaking and leading the entire sales cycle from cold calling (or occasionally from initial contact where there is a referral) through the stages of requirements definition, management of RFIs/RFPs, presentations, and closing the deal

• Maximizing  revenue opportunities for the company, and delivering to an annual sales quota

• Commercial and contract negotiations

• Account management and identification of up-sell opportunities post sale

• Providing feedback internally and keeping up to date information and reporting through Salesforce.com

• Occasional representation at industry conferences

• Problem solving;  turning requirements into solutions

• Potential requirement to travel within EMEA for client engagements, internal meetings and training.

Business competencies

Education and experience

• A degree or equivalent

• Understanding of financial markets products and risk analytics; a broad understanding of the investment bank trading process, particularly relating to derivative trading, and related regulation

• Track record of previous success in large scale Enterprise Sales in a relevant market, selling USD 1 – 5M software licenses plus services.

Commercial abilities

• Ability to manage a sale towards a successful commercial and contractual conclusion

• A very strong network of senior management contacts within the sell side institutions.  Your network contacts and existing relationships will be essential in building the initial pipeline as you will commence from a standing start.

• Ability to self-manage remotely and at client sites on a daily basis.
