Responsibilities
This IT generalist position provides direction and leadership for technology at the Ameriprise Auto Home Insurance (AAH) division. This may include any aspects of technology and technology support for AAH including business-specific applications, infrastructure, outside professional services and the technical personnel that maintain these systems or services.

Responsibilities include:
- Consistently refresh and directionally align technology strategy to business strategy. Strategize, plan, staff, and deliver technology resources to meet business need.
- Ensure that major projects or large technology-based initiatives are delivered on-time and within budget. Serve as liaison between business and technology organization, helping to translate technical details into business terms and vice versa. Negotiate contracts as appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of direct and indirect reports who are primarily technical people leaders which includes coaching, providing employee feedback through effective performance management practices, ensuring employee skill and leadership development, and conducting regular one-on-one meetings. Manage multi-million dollar technology budget.
- Participate in or lead the annual technology planning process which may involve gathering information and estimates from system domain areas based on business priorities, understanding the health of system assets in applying new investments, and providing input to the business to create an investment agenda. Understand resourcing and financial models for the appropriate costing and scheduling of IT services.
- Provide day-to-day support of the systems. Assess, communicate, and escalate high-impact issues to appropriate leaders in the business and technology to get problems resolved in a timely manner.
- Understand and support the disaster recovery and business continuation programs in the business.
- Oversee policy development and governance of IT standards, methodologies, security, scorecard, and vendors in managed area.
