Vice President Treasury ALM recruitment
Treasury is responsible for the management and execution of the group's capital, funding and liquidity risks and requirements. The Treasury is centred around five global functional pillars - Capital Management, Liquidity Management, ALM/FTP, Treasury Execution and the Investment Function - complemented by three regional and two business cluster Treasuries.
These functional, regional and business treasuries work together in a matrix structure.
The Asset Liability Management / Funds Transfer Pricing (ALM / FTP) Pillar function are currently strengthening their team and require a number of VPs to support the ALM analysis across Group Treasury, the Corporate Banking Business and the Wealth International business. The main purpose of these roles is to supply high level analysis and stakeholder engagement for:
Balance Sheet Management
- Projections of balance sheet composition, leverage ratios, funding gaps
- Deliver accurate, timely and transparent reporting for:
- Internal stakeholders (e.g. Treasury Committee Board of Directors)
- External stakeholders (e.g. FSA Rating Agencies)
- Support Group Treasury leadership in developing balance sheet strategies
- Liaise with business to understand pricing and growth strategies of their portfolios
- Maintain a close working relationship with Treasury/Balance Sheet Management teams across the Group to ensure that modelling is consistent with best practice
Funds Transfer Pricing Interest Rate Risk
- Ensure that non-traded market risk is correctly expressed, measured, and analyzed based on methodologies such as NPV (net portfolio value), NII (net interest income) simulation and others of similar scope and complexity
- Calculate Funds Transfer Pricing charge/reward for balances businesses originate
- Support Group Treasury Funding and Interest Rate Risk desk with analysis and reporting to manage Group Treasury’s portfolios
The successful Vice President for ALM and FTP will offer a background that has originated from a quantitative degree, such as Maths based disciplines e.g. Engineering, Economics, Statistics and further enhanced with experience of working in a balance sheet risk focused role. Subsequent experience of utilising a QRM model for Earnings at Risk, Value at Risk, Funds Transfer Pricing, Duration of Equity, and Margin Forecasting analyses will be viewed as a distinct advantage.
