Department Overview
The GPS (Global Products and Services) organization within TIS (Technology Infrastructure Services) has an ambitious program to develop a ‘next generation’ compute hosting platform. The platform should deliver infrastructure as a service and should simplify operations by driving globally consistent processes. It should shorten provisioning cycles, improve utilization levels and offer predictable delivery dates. Virtualization is at the heart of the new platform. We are looking for a virtualization specialist, based in Singapore, to join our global team.
Job Description
We are looking for a Virtualization Specialist with strong scripting skills to be part our team.
Ideally you should have 8+ years of diverse experience on Windows server VMware platform (administration, engineering, providing custom solutions)
Educational Qualification
- University degree/diploma in an analytical discipline
- Fluent written and spoken English
Essential Technical Skills
- Expert in VMware technologies especially vCenter, ESXi
- Expert in writing code against the VMware API and SDK using Powershell, PowerCLI or C# etc.
- Intermediate skills in writing SQL queries, Interface design (.net, html etc.), software packaging and delivery using bladelogic
- Experience in VMware compliance monitoring and reporting tools. Customizing reports and workflows, exception management etc.
- Essential skills in linux shell scripts
Essential Competencies
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to analyze requirements and envisage big picture, will to learn and skill to fill in the blanks
- Product evaluation, setup of proof-of-concept environments. Liase with vendor and drive projects to their logical conclusion
- Ability to document engineering results and recommendations for peer groups as well as senior management
Good to have:
- Experience in cloud orchestration tools and workflow editors
