Voluntary Equity Corporate Actions AVP
My client a major global financial services provider is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Equities / FI Corporate Actions Manager with strong Corporate Actions knowledge and risk awareness, to join their Global Operations team. The primary activities of the team include settling transactions across the full range of products, advising clients, internal and external, of the state of their transaction and setting up new operations and business in support of the Bank’s strategy.
The role holder will be involved in ongoing automation of routine processing and control activities to reduce cost and improve service quality and maintaining rigorous controls over the settlement process. The group has intentions to expand their global reach in the near future as the Bank’s front office has undergone several years of tremendous growth and the operations group now needs considerable focus to ensure they can support the business with future growth forecasts. Sitting within the Global Operations department, the Global Asset Servicing team is comprised of 170 people across all regions. The Corporate Actions team is responsible for the processing of all benefit entitlements for equity products and they provide support for the prop, prime brokerage and financing desks.
Key duties are:
Responsibility for management oversight of Voluntary Corporate Action Team across all business streams in all European markets from when the file is set up until up to and including the relevant entitlement booking.
Responsible for ensuring all corporate action deadlines are met across all EMEA equity and debt instruments.
Providing final sign off and release of CA voluntary instructions to the market to ensure zero PnL impact to the firm.
Ensuring all breaks and fails on the back of voluntary entitlements are at a minimum.
Responsible for reporting KRI’s to senior management within Asset Servicing.
Providing assistance to analyst’s for any reconciliation issues as and when they arise.
Liaising with internal PB desk/Stock Loan desk/Prop desks.
Liaising with external counterparties - Stock Lending, Brokers, Clients.
Liaising with Custodians.
Providing regional sign off for all client money items relating to voluntary CA on a daily basis.
Person Requirements
Managerial experience.
The successful candidate will need to have previously managed a voluntary corporate actions team in an investment banking environment.
Professional/technical experience.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate that they have strong Corporate Actions knowledge, risk awareness and strong numeric skills.
The right candidate will have good time management, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and will additionally have the ability to adapt in a fast moving environment and the ability to quickly understand new businesses.
The successful candidate will have an excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
The chosen candidate will be a team player with a high level of commitment and enthusiasm. This person will have a strong understanding of the control environment and the associated risks, as well as, good analytical skills and the ability to develop effective solutions to support new business initiatives, market and regulatory changes.
