Responsibilities
The CMS Architect provides technical leadership throughout the lifecycle of the project, with specific focus on designing and implementing enterprise-class CMS solutions. This role is responsible for defining the WCMS architecture, validating designs, supporting estimations, integrating new and existing technologies, and adhering to project development processes and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining, maintaining, and supporting the WCMS architecture
- Work with stakeholders to design and implement system functionality, workflows, content model and content management templates to support current and future needs
- Develop conceptual and technical design including use of Object-Oriented techniques
- Use deep understanding of Object-oriented (OO) design principles to architect and create custom software solutions or modify package solutions
- Work with the existing IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level
- Work with system owners, business owners, technical teams, and functional teams to deliver software solutions
- Establish high, mid and micro level plans and set technical direction for the implementation project and post-implementation support phases
- Lead the estimation effort for projects
- Identify and manage risks
- Mentor team members
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, custom and package implementation, and architecture experience
Business Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership and managerial skills to independently manage teams during multiple phases of the project lifecycle
- Well-developed organizational and interpersonal communications skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such as meeting facilitation, presentation and documentation
- Good business analysis/redesign skills with architecture and implementation experience
- Requirements analysis, conceptual, logical and detailed design skills
- Configuration planning, testing, change management and support experience
- Project management with complex projects and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Technical Skills and Experience
- Experience working with 2 or more WCMS/ECMS products (Interwoven, Tridion, Stellent, Fatwire, Sharepoint, Sitecore, etc.)
- Experience integrating search technology (Autonomy, Endeca, FAST, etc.) with content management
- Experience in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise level applications
- Expertise in multiple technology platforms and languages such as Java, J2EE, C#, .NET, LAMP, etc.
- Expertise in multiple database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, MySQL, etc.
