VP Cash Accounting

This position will also champion best practices, process improvements, and assist the IT area in the design and configuration of the company's IT infrastructure as it relates to Accounting.

 

This role will interface with the Treasurer and other finance leaders. This is a dynamic position and the successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and challenge the traditional way of doing business while maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.

 

The manager would be expected to understand these processes, review journal entries, and review account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance with policies and standards; coordinate month end variance explanations and oversee the preparation quarterly and monthly reporting deliverables. Promote effective financial controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and use technology to reduce the level of human touch points in the day to day operations. This role also includes being an active participant in projects. This will involve working with several different groups throughout the company to include Treasury, Finance, Accounting Policy, Capital Markets, and Mortgage Servicing and Operations, Project Teams and others; and managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a time sensitive environment.

 

Essential functions of the position:

 

Manage and mentor professional staff in an era of growth, transformation, and cultural changes.

Assist to drive strategic planning and innovation in managing the accounting and reporting of portfolio assets. Promote effective financial controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and use technology to reduce the level of human touch points in the day to day operations.

Manage or participate in projects that are an integral part of the Company's strategic goals including advising on accounting policy matters for emerging issues, improving the financial IT infrastructure, collaborating with other stake holders (e.g. operations and business partners), and promoting process excellence in the accounting department.

Collaborate with IT and business partners in the design, development, and implementation of the company's next generation loan and lease accounting systems.

Responsible for the budget and resource deployment of the unit.

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management CPA, MBA, desired 10 years of relevant work experience with background in the financial services industry preferred

5 years of applicable leadership/management experience Expert excel, VBA SQL preferred
