Our client, a leading international commodities merchant, is currently in the process of expanding their APAC soft commodities platform. This opportunity would suit an individual with experience in selling physical commodities within the domestic Chinese market.
Candidates with a background in bulk, soft, or agri commodities would be considered, however commercial experience is essential. A successful candidate would have experience in building and maintaining a portfolio of clients, sales, and negotiation. The ability to utilise market information and trends is also essential.
Responsibilities of Soft Commodities Sales, China - Shanghai:
· Establishing and maintaining a portfolio of clients within domestic Chinese commodities markets
· Actively selling physical soft commodities in order to maximize commercial revenue
· Understanding and utilizing appropriate market information and trends
· Provide support to business development teams
· Work closely with management and regional parallel business units
Skills required for Soft Commodities Sales, China - Shanghai:
· At least 3-5 years experience in physical commodities sales
· Ability to build a portfolio of clients
· Negotiation of both spot and long term sales
· Fluent in both English and Mandarin, in order to build relationships with Chinese clients, and to liaise with international management
· A strong analytical and/or commercial background
