VP Corporate Tax Manager recruitment

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor all deferred tax inventory accounts and balances and responsible for reviewing overall tax accounting for the US subsidiary group and the broker-dealer.

• Preparation/review of quarterly tax provisions prepared under IAS. Assist in coordinating the review by external auditors. 

• Prepare quarterly provision summary as a basis for detailed discussions with Head Office regarding all aspects of the tax provision and accounting, including the tax rate reconciliation, significant quarterly movements, the stock of DTA’s, etc.

• Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly business plan projections to support the financial statement benefits of deferred tax assets.

• Preparation/review of the federal, state local tax returns for the branch and various subsidiaries. Assist in coordinating the review of these returns.

• Preparation/review of quarterly estimated payments, including reconciliations between G/L accounts related to tax and tax records per various jurisdictions.

• Prepare tax projections/models based on various assumptions to evaluate impact of proposed transactions on tax calculations.

• Assist in responding to Information Document Requests by Federal, State Local tax authorities. Model proposed adjustments to quantify impact.

Requirements:

• 5+ years corporate tax experience within financial services / public accounting

• Strong provision background preferably with expertise in FAS 109. 

• Must have extensive experience in applying International Accounting Standards (IAS) within a Tax Department

• Analyze and research tax issues as needed for compliance, audit and provision purposes.

• U.S. state and local tax compliance experience for a multi-national corporation.

• Knowledge of Industry Best Practices

• B.S. in Accounting or Masters in Tax
