VP – Credit Analyst – FIs

This is an exciting and unique role that would suit a junior VP or Senior Associate looking for the next step up in his/her career. The team is small and focused and part of a larger FIs group with an excellent reputation within the bank. The successful candidate will be given a portfolio of names from day one and have the change to be involved in many projects within the bank. p

Requirements: p

Pro-active management of a distinct portfolio of counterparts (country or sector) to minimise credit losses. p

Front-to-back credit risk management including counterparty financial analysis, determination of internal risk rating and regular monitoring of counterparty. performance to identify any emerging credit risk. p

Build and maintain strong relationships with the Front Office. p

Demonstrate sound credit judgement in analysis and approval/decline of new transactions (incl. cash lending, trade finance, and derivatives), reflecting understanding of pertinent issues and risk drivers. p

Requirements: p

Experience in the banking sector and credit risk. p

Solid understanding of the Middle East and Africa and financial institutions in these countries. p

Good knowledge of financial accountancy and modelling techniques. p

Strong analytical background which can be applied to counterparty analysis. p

Good working knowledge of credit grading models. p

Relevant technical knowledge of the business areas under your responsibility. p

Understanding of business issues affecting the sectors / regions handled. p

Knowledge of current IT systems in use in the credit risk processes (PRisM, CORT). p

Drafting complex credit applications. p

Solid understanding of traded products. p

Comprehensive product knowledge including derivatives. p

Details knowledge of derivative documentation and credit mitigation techniques. p
