VP Government Affairs - Position Resides in West Palm Beach
Tasks: Job Responsibilities: Position serves as the lead government affairs executive for the Comcast Florida Region which serves Comcast customers in the entire state of Florida. Daily responsibilities include managing a joint staff of employees responsible for government relations, public affairs and regulatory matters in the region. Position reports directly to the Regional Senior Vice President of Florida with secondary reporting to Central Division Senior Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs. Government Affairs Duties: Consistent with directives from the Central Division Senior Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, the position is responsible for the management and oversight of the Florida Region government affairs team. Major duties include: ?Overseeing all franchise renewals including managing state franchising process with through state agencies. ?Coordination with Division and Corporate leads on other regulatory matters involving Comcast ?Coordinate with state director of Government Affairs on legislative efforts ?Coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with franchise obligations ?Responds to notices of default and other compliance issues ?Monitoring involvement of municipal consultants ?Coordination of grassroots activities of field government affairs staff ?Provide oversight of regional staff, state, area, and system management personnel to maximize renewal prospects ?Leveraging the Florida Region's local relationships with federal, state and local policy makers ?Local execution of urban and rural strategies to support legislative efforts ?Development of long-term grassroots strategy to support Comcast's legislative priorities ?Coordinating Internet Essentials program to ensure identification of barriers to success and create appropriate response tactics/strategies ?Maintain and strenghten positive relationships/collaborations with the key stakeholders while fostering the Company's image and brand ?Manage community investment efforts including grants, in-kind giving and public events. ?Responsible for regional execution of Comcast's corporate community investment initiatives. ?Serve as principal interface with Central Division and business leads in implementing Florida Region's statewide government affairs, regulatory and community investment initiatives and business imperatives. Other duties as assigned. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance. Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree and equivalent experience in business and negotiations required. JD preferred. Experience: ?6+ years experience in government relations and regulatory affairs required. ?Demonstrated success in managing campaigns and public affairs experience preferred. ?Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to organize and direct projects with little supervision. ?A solid track record of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders ?Demonstrated ability to work with executive leadership and to manage senior level relationships ?Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills ?Excellent communications skills, both oral and written ?Willing and able to travel as required. ?Ability to work well with deadlines.
