VP – Group Financial Reporting – Advisory recruitment

A leading international bank has a brand new opening for VP (Group Financial Reporting) for its group accounting policies. This role is to review and updates the accounting policies and standards whilst acknowledging the changes within the banking industry.

The role will include but definitely not be limited to:

• Develop and interpret accounting policy 

• Keeps abreast of developments in Accounting standards

• Analyse and communicates and leads the implementation of changes to financial reporting standards to the Bank and its subsidiary companies 

• Reviews and updates the Group Accounting Policy Manual 

• Works closely with the Group Financial Reporting team to identify and prepare for required disclosures in financial statements 

• Provides advice and recommendations as a technical specialist on the accounting treatment for financial instruments, structures and special projects 

• Review and advice on  US GAAP and IFRS/local GAAP accounting across all businesses 

• Responsible for providing client accounting advice internally for complex products focusing on reputational risk 

• Participate in Capital Market approval committee meeting for new products, businesses, entities and systems implementation 

• Support the financial reporting and product control team in their reporting and disclosures for quarter end, year-end and special reporting 

• Liaise with external auditors on year-end accounting issues and also implementation of new accounting standards 

This role requires a Bachelors degree or post graduate qualification (Finance or Accounting Degree Preferred).  The ideal candidate will come from a Financial Reporting experienced in the banking industry with a minimum experience of 10yrs. An excellent relationship management is crucial for this role.
