VP, Human Resources Location:Detroit, MI Employment Type:Full Time Employment Area:Human Resources Position Description: Directs and manages all human resource functions for Quicken Loans and its affiliates. Responsible for overall planning, organization, implementation and control of the human resource function to meet current and future needs of the organization. Ensuring that compliance with new and established policies, procedures and programs is consistently applied. Interacts with leadership to create environment where team members have an opportunity for personal growth and a rewarding career while furthering the success and growth of the organization. What You Will Do - Serve as an advisor to our Leadership Team with regard to team member issues and effective use of human resources - Communicate HR policies, procedures and programs to team members through email, voicemail, meetings and intranet sites - Initiate, develop and recommend team member and leadership policies, procedures and programs to attain the organization's goals and objectives - Responsible for providing senior leadership with interpretation of federal and state labor laws as they apply to the organization's operations - Ensure uniformity in recruitment and selection process including hiring criteria, selection procedures, advertisement practices and transfer guidelines - Responsible for oversight of Payroll and HRIS technology and process - Oversee and manage preparation and administration of compensation and benefit plan strategies - Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of various team member benefit programs - Monitors proper courses of action in handling team member issues including counseling team members; investigating team member issues and the interpretation and application of EEO/affirmative action issues - Responsible for directing HRs day to day activities through the HR Leadership Team - Advises CEO on a regular basis on the activities of the Human Resources team - Directs ongoing review of HR systems and processes and is responsible for new and revised systems while improving overall efficiency - Regular interaction with the Sr. Leadership Team and with leaders in our Family of Companies - Understanding and support of our culture What You Will Need - Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college preferably in the business or human resources area - Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the personnel field, with at least 5 years in a leadership position - Strong working knowledge of the application of the principles of HR administration including payroll and benefit administration, leadership training, team relations and recruiting - Promote positive relationships with others - Exercise discretion in confidential matters - Think analytically while developing methods for handling all areas of the human resources team - Availability after typic
