VP level Euro bond trader
My client are a Global Investment Bank in a very stable position globally and are expanding their fixed income team in London. They are looking to expand their FIC Trading team and hire a VP level EURO bond trader across markets such as MEX / BRL / ZAR / TRY.
The candidate must have a proven track record of generating strong PNL figures from market making and to a lesser extent prop trading. The candidate must be comfortable managing and taking own risk and will have been market making these products in a previous role on the sell side ideally.
Although the candidate will come in at a VP level there is great opportunity for career progression and the chance to move in to a senior emerging markets trading role quickly. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Market making ( and prop trading ) in the EURO bonds interest rates markets
- Maximise profits and manage risk effectively through cross market positions in Emerging Market Bonds ( with a focus on interest rates )
- The provision of specialist knowledge in EURO bonds
- Emerging Markets, with a focus on - MEX / BRL / ZAR / TRY
- Push the sales force and help build the franchise
- Liaise with other teams on the structuring and scheduling of new EURO bond issuance
- Manage own risk
- Manage and develop desk tools and databases
Skills / Attributes required:
- Approx 4-5 years trading experience in this space ( market making / prop trading EURO bonds )
- Good PNL track record
- Experienced using standard pricing tools: Bloomberg etc
