VP of Control & Governance recruitment

A leading wealth and investment manager, who form part of one of the largest financial services groups in the world, are looking to hire a VP level candidate into their highly regarded Control and Governance team.

This role will be accountable for the definition and ongoing execution of the control governance framework around the asset management company. The role holder will have a high profile and respected position within the firm, with the ability to influence and affect change.

The role holder will be accountable for:

* The definition of roles and responsibilities between control governance, supplier management, operations and our third party suppliers

* The maintenance of the governance framework underpinning the fund ranges

* Preparation and oversight of the suite of market and operational risk management reports, complying with UCITS IV and other regulatory requirements

* Definition and execution of an ongoing assurance and control framework including responding to risk events and other issues, defining root cause and proposing process improvements

* Oversight of outsourcing arrangements with third parties and escalation of issues to the head of funds and Platforms

* Definition and operation of level 2⁄3 controls (for example; oversight reports, checklists, governance Manuals)

* Assisting the head of UK offshore asset management ensure the effective day to day operation of the Business

* Playing a key role in the implementation of major strategic projects affecting the fund ranges.

Finally, the role holder will be working closely with the business directors and the local 'accountable persons' in each domicile ensuring required activities are performed in line with board's and regulators expectations.

Applicants should possess commercial experience within Financial Services Asset management, an in-depth knowledge of the funds industry (regulatory, operational, risk control and compliance regime, product development, sales and marketing), solid understanding of the Wealth Management industry.

Management and team leadership experience is also required.

Applicants must be educated to degree level, with additional qualification such as; ACA, CFA, MBA, MSC in finance. Audit experience would be highly valuable. Other qualifications in Project⁄Programme management would be an advantage.
