As a Project Management you will work closely with the businesses and all of the functional groups to ensure new business initiatives are rolled out in a timely and controlled manner. The role is to scope, plan and execute projects and programmes for the business..
Main responsibilities:
- Accountable for the planning and successful delivery of projects assigned by the portfolio managers.
- Mobilise and initiate projects; identify and engage key stakeholders, secure resource commitments and shape project.
- Responsible for ensuring clear project / programme status reporting and issue/risk tracking in place
- Translate business objectives and project scope into an executable plan; drive the creation of detailed project plans covering all functional deliverables
- Establish and facilitate appropriate governance frameworks to secure effective project steering from key decision makers and effective execution from working groups / project team members.
- Direction management of the project team; allocation of tasks, monitoring progress, ongoing control/coordination of delivery.
Risk Issue management - identify and manage project risks and issues. - Partner with stakeholders across functions to drive project engagement and to resolve areas of conflict.
- Ensure projects under management adhere to the project management methodology.
- Ensuring transparent and accurate relevant status reporting and communications to project participants, stakeholders, and regional/global PMOs.
- Monitoring control; use of resources and funds against the original budget; implement robust change control mechanisms; provide regular and accurate progress reports to stakeholders.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues, transferring skills and expertise as required to ensure delivery against targets and continuing professional and personal development.
- Supporting Portfolio / Programme Managers by providing clear and timely project status reporting and risk/issue escalation on projects within their areas.
- To appropriately probe and question requirements, drawing on SMEs as required to ensure alignment of requirements to overall project objectives and good business practice.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrate experience of running front-to-back business change projects (e.g. new branch openings, new products to market, control and efficiency initiatives).
- Extensive experience of running large projects in an investment banking context.
- Proven track record in working with direct and virtual project teams to drive execution and delivery.
- Experience of influencing senior stakeholder and successfully managing conflict situations.
You will have10+ years project management experience with in depth knowledge of at least one global markets asset class (e.g. Rates, Currencies, Commodities, Equities). Preferably you will be certified in a formal project management methodology (i.e. Prince2, PMI, etc). You will have experience in running regional projects across Asia Pacific and exposure to the regulatory environments in Asia Pacific countries.
