VP Rates Finance Manager – European Exotic Rates – Leading Investment Bank recruitment

As the Rates Finance Manager you will own the relationship with the desk head to validating the integrity of the financials, making key decisions on valuation and accounting treatment along with reporting on the business performance.

Beyond owning the integrity of the Financials, the team are increasingly being asked to step into a business advisory capacity. Such advisory spans “traditional” Product Control - like activities such as valuation and accounting, but increasingly stretches into business performance monitoring and goal setting including resource usage

As the Finance Manager you will be able to;

• Sign off on the accuracy of the Revenues and Balance Sheet. A prerequisite of sign off is an understanding and review of the following:

•  Understand the underlying risks together with market movements such that gains and losses can be easily explained.

•  Ensure controls are in place from the booking of a new deal to where it is recorded in the annual report.

•  Validate the pricing of positions i.e. are the correct prices and models in place.

• Effective storyboarding and problem statement definition of key issues and challenges such that senior management has a clear understanding of the issues and potential solutions.

• Monitoring and controlling progress on mitigating actions against requirements to ensure remediation of accounting/valuation risks. Providing status reporting to key stakeholders and Senior Finance Management.

• Explain quarterly and annual performance to senior management in terms of revenues and use of resources such as capital and balance sheet.

• Provide and organise responses to regulator requests

• Ensure consistence and accuracy in the pricing and provisioning of all positions.

Fantastic opportunity for a strong individual with a background in Rates IPV Valuations / Product Control, who has experience in performance benchmarking, goal setting, goal monitoring, business case development, and stakeholder management.

You will join the team at a relatively senior level and make an immediate contribution while also learning the specific content knowledge and skills specific to a sales and trading business within capital markets.

Should possess outstanding academics, numeracy, IT literacy and communication skills. Most importantly the potential to rapidly add value in this extremely switched on environment. It is envisaged this person will have 6-10 working within a financial role that requires analysis at a micro and macro level after achieving top quartile academics ACA FTP, 1st Class Degree and A/B’s at A level along with strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
