VP, Risk Officer Job in El Monte, California Us
The Risk Officer is responsible for ensuring the Bank’s compliance with the Risk Management Program. This position works in partnership with other departments and risk functions to ensure that policies are managed effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with established business metrics, as well as ensure compliance with existing regulations. The role involves communication with senior management to understand high-level goals, define strategy, and monitor progress of analysis and implementation.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank’s Risk Management Program.
- Develops an understanding of accounting processes, and ensures an effective internal control process and self monitoring practices are in place.
- Supports the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring that the Risk Management Program is in alignment with the expectations of the Board and the Executive Management.
- Works closely with business units to execute key control testing and assessing. Provides input and feedback as to the adequacy and effectiveness of the key control processes.
- Communicates and develops strong working relationship with business line management. Provides guidance on risk issues and identifies and escalates risk issues.
- Provides risk management reports and analysis to Committee members.
- Effectively completes other accounting projects timely, as assigned by the Chief Risk Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: Bachelor’s degree. CPA preferred.
· Experience: Minimum four to seven years of experience in a Risk Management role. Strong accounting experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Skills/Ability:
Strong knowledge of operational and regulatory risk management principles.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
