Essential duties and responsibilities include:
The Vice President, Senior Product Manager for Franklin U.S. Equities will work as a liaison between investment management and distribution. In this liaison capacity, the Sr. Product Manager is expected to serve as a product expert and product champion for the Franklin Equity Group. The position will interact with both investment management and distribution across all levels in an effort to promote and defend the product line, competitively position the product line, and serve as a proxy for the portfolio manager in non-investment related activities. Product Managers represent their respective investment teams to both internal and external clients, acting as a specialized source of product and market knowledge. You will be responsible for:
oServe as an internal external proxy for portfolio manager for the assigned investment strategy. oSupport the gathering and retention of assets under management by working closely with sales and client service professionals across all distribution channels. oEffectively answer client servicing questions, articulate investment team views and respond to performance issues and other investment-related issues on strategies for assigned asset class. oEducate internal and external audiences on investment strategies and products. Articulate investment philosophy, process and outlook, as well as performance and positioning of specific products to external (clients, prospects and/or intermediaries) and internal (sales, client service, consultant relations and marketing) audiences oCreate strategic and global messaging for investment team on assigned investment strategy. oPerform portfolio attribution analysis for use by internal and external clients. oProvide PM perspective (investment strategy positioning and performance context, voice, messaging) to internal business partners and others responsible for producing and delivering content to internal and external audiences. oContribute content for thought leadership and white papers to be used with the most sophisticated client groups and then leveraged in most investment content firmwide. oParticipate in the development and pricing of new and current products.

Ideal candidates will have:
o10+ years of financial services experience, preferably with a focus on investment management, consulting or sell-side experience. oExperience in the U.S. Equities asset class oKnowledge of data sources for performance, flows, relevant competitive information oExemplary understanding of investment and portfolio management processes oDemonstrated knowledge of distribution channels, investment vehicles and pricing structures oAbility to translate complex portfolio data (such as performance attribution reports) into useable information oStrong knowledge of markets, products techniques oExperience managing and leading people oExcellent attention to detail oHighly motivated and a self-starter oCFA preferred; MBA a plus Ability and willingness to travel
