Wealth Management Compensation Consultant and General Manager, Singapore (VP-level) recruitment

The business offers consulting services to private banks and brokerage firms in North Asia and Southeast Asia, helping clients to make better decisions by applying external and proprietary market pay and performance information to their business problems. The private banking industry is highly competitive and the players therein seek the right balance between cost reduction and efficiency vs. hiring top talent to improve market share and asset migration. The right candidates will have 5-7 years experience in strategy or HR roles within private banking, and/or currently work in a consulting practice with a focus on wealth management. In both cases candidates MUST have had particular exposure to compensation and performance projects spanning front to back office, and a solid understanding of how this links to the bank’s overall financial health.

The firm is looking to hire a consultant who is fast-thinking, knowledgeable on various pay and performance models in the private banking industry, and understand the financial pressures facing banks who want to increase their market share in Asia.

Professionalism and presentability is key as the role of this individual will also be to engage at a senior level with line managers and heads of private banks on these issues. The head of the Singapore office’s wealth management practice will eventually take on the responsibility for the HK business as well, and therefore someone young, hungry, and willing to learn would be ideal for the role. Training and support will be provided by the COO and global head, but the compensation skillset and character of the individual is crucial.

Experience in wealth management in Asia is key. An ability to understand and analyse numbers is important. Linguistic skills are an added bonus (eg Mandarin or Bahasa).
