Wealth Management IT APAC Process & Technical Support Analyst recruitment
Wealth Management IT (WMIT) APAC is a dedicated application support development organisation focused on UBS's Wealth Management business in Asia Pacific. WMIT develops and provides 1st-3rd line support for critical applications in a global highly complex technical environment.
The role is in the Testing, Process and Support group as part of the process stream. A key goal of which is to standardise processes leveraging common tools and platforms. As such the successful candidate will work closely with Run the Bank and Change the Bank colleagues in the region and globally. The role will also provide an effective means to constantly improve the production environment, in accordance with industry and UBS's best practices. The key focus areas would be Problem trends, capacity constraints and Release Management. The improvements may include tools rationalization, process re-engineering and adopt/reuse UBS Global tools and standards.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to,
- Analyse problem trends and capacity constraints and provide enhanced solutions for RtB controlled areas such as hosekeeping , DB peformance tuning etc..
- Develop and implement proactive monitoring tool to capture storage and database space utilization. Work with RtB and infrastructure support to take appropriate action to improve forecasts for space requirements.
- Develop and implement tools such as log viewer, configuration tool, application dash board etc. that helps RtB teams to provide quick response and to identify front to back impacts
- Work closely with Infrastructure support team to improve IT estate in tems of infrastructure resource management and control repeated issues
- Identify improvement areas in comparison with standard tools and practices in Wealth Management Switzerland. Focal areas would be release, deployment and monitoring.
- Analyse those areas from both technical and business related point of view and evolve a design, plan, manage and implement the solution in WM APAC with required regional alterations
- Document the project deliverables, track project risks , issues and actions and send regular status update
- Understand the different geographical support requirement across APAC and provide resolution to satisfy the respective needs in terms of tools and processes.
- Understand the UBS release management process and act as backup for WM APAC release manager
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- A solid computer science education, or degree with technical emphasis and which stresses logical thinking / problem solving
- Minimum 6 years experience
- Broad knowledge and understanding of support, Global IT operations or technology
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and ITIL frame work
- Strong communication skills, is a team player and can work autonomously
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Solid Unix know-how including scripting (Sun Solaris, Linux)
- Solid knowledge in relational databases (Sybase, Oracle) / query (SQL)
- Software development experience with Java or J2EE JSP or similar
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl
- Knowledge of the monitoring, scheduling and deployment tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Experience of working in pressured environments to tight timelines
- Highly motivated
- Past experience within financial industry and or financial exchanges
- Financial product knowledge such as Equities, FX, MM , Bond etc
- Knowledge of the Tomcat and Apache
- Knowledge of the middleware (MQ, Tibco)
- Business process knowledge
- Additional language skills are valued
