THE ROLE:
As Ceridian evolves its web strategy we are looking for a highly innovative individual to join our team to help increase our web presence and targeting of small business. You will be joining a highly motivated team who are focused on challenging the conventions of our industry and to deliver the ultimate in client web experience.
You will be responsible for the management and/or implementation to changes to our www.ceridiansmallbusiness.ca website and must therefore be highly competent at coding
Be responsible for implementing design and navigation improvements to the website in order to increase the volume of ecommerce transactions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide accurate timing estimates based on verbal or documented briefs.
Build mock ups of splash page designs and be capable of transorfming them into working HTML pages
Work with SEO specialists to ensure pages are optimized for search engines and accessibility keeping us top of the internet rankings
Experience in website / graphic design and development an asset
Proven experience with an e-commerce website, including online marketing concepts, trends and latest applications.
Knowledge of: HTML, XHTML/CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Java, RSS/XML, Flash as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
Demonstrated level of creativity and understanding of industry trends and best practices.
Keeping in line with our existing branding, you will design graphics for use on the website and in other promotional materials.
Responsibilities may grow to include creating an online brochure / catalogue for our customers, or wherever your creativity takes you!
Use approved mockups and transforms them into HTML templates.
Create clean and reusable code that other team members will understand quickly.
Work with analytics software to ensure all activity is tracked on the website
Respect project milestones and deadlines.
Ensure all projects are delivered on time and to the highest possible standard.
Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to HTML and CSS but also in accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies with a view to incorporating these infuture projects and staying ahead of the market.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Technical skills
Demonstrated excellence in developing standards-based and semantic website with HTML/CSS
Be current with recent developments of HTML5 and CSS3
Competent in JavaScript
Good understanding of Web Accessibility
An understanding of basic PHP and MySQL - particularly experience of the integration of server-side code to produce dynamic pages
Ability to implement SEO best practices
General knowledge of web analytics
Capable of working in any development software to write code (Dreamweaver, Eclipse,Notepad)
Adobe CS suite fluency as relates to front-end development
Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
A Plus
Experience working with Netsuite Ecommerce solution
Knowledge in mobile specific coding
Knowledge of HTML Email best practice
Basic understanding of MVC frameworks
Knowledge of the SQL language
Knowledge and experience of using content management systems
Knowledge of Blog CMS like Movable Type and WordPress
