Web Developer III Job in Sarasota, Florida US

              

The Web Developer (L3) is responsible for web development processes and leading the web development team in design, development, and testing using Agile methodology. This includes oversight and management of projects and tasks impacting the web development team.

 

II.              Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

·       Using Agile methodology, manages the day to day activities of the web development team including the design, development, testing, debugging, and supporting custom web applications and web services.

·       Leads the development of technical design documentation within the SDLC process.

·       Leads and develops applications and services according to technical design documentation.

·       Leads the development of written test plans to ensure highest quality work.

·       Identifies appropriate off-the-shelf and/or open source software packages for internal customers and IT process improvements.

·       Leads the implementation, customization, and support of off-the-shelf software packages.

·       Serves as the key internal knowledge expert for web developers.

·       Provides coaching and mentoring to the web development team to ensure best practices and standards are followed and team members continue to grow in their knowledge of web development and associated technologies.

·       Leads the coordination of production release activities such as code migrations as necessary to support business requirements and operations schedules.

·       Ensures appropriate tools are in place to streamline development of web applications and web services.

·       Leads in the establishment and implementation of application security standards with adherence to security best practices and BHP security strategy.

·       Leads the team in troubleshooting application problems and working with inside and outside resources as necessary to resolve them.

·       Leads the creation and enforcement of web development operational procedures.

·       Monitors workload of web development team including IT service desk tickets assigned to the team to ensure projects are progressing according to schedule and tickets are addressed in a timely manner.  Ensures management is fully aware of schedule or resource issues in a timely manner.

·       Manages / Leads multiple projects at a time.

 

 

 

III.            Educational and/or Experience

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree desired.

·       Must have a minimum of 9 years relevant experience in web development.

·       Demonstrated experience leading a team of web developers.

·       Strong self starter who can be successful with moderate direct management.

·       High-level of proficiency developing in HTML, JavaScript with AJAX, CSS, JSP, PHP, Java Servlets, and Java Web Services.

·       Experience with development and administration in a Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) environment.

·       Experience with developing web services in WebLogic.

·       Fluent in web development tools such as Eclipse and Dreamweaver and off-the-shelf JavaScript libraries such as Sencha Ext JS or YUI.

·       Experience installing and configuring open source applications on Redhat Linux.

·       Experience with MS Project or equivalent and software configuration management.

·       Experience with other languages and platforms including SQL, .NET, and Oracle Content Server is a plus.
