Web Graphic Designer Job in Glasgow, Scotland Uk

Highly Creative Web Graphic Designer with experience of working to deadlines and developing creative solutions to a brief.

 

Duties required:

 

·         Create and develop innovative design solutions for web projects that meet requirements.

·         Develop design solutions that adhere to usability and accessibility standards, good practice in GUI design, W3C and our Content and Technical Standards.

·         Apply a user-centred design approach for W3C standards-compliant web based projects through a lifecycle from wireframes, through prototypes to final layouts fit for CSS implementation by the development team.

·         Liaise with technical and content teams to ensure the effective implementation of web designs.

·         Discuss and agree requirements with project managers, customers, developers and content providers; prepare estimates, and regular reports for all work.

·         Liaise and where necessary co-ordinate the work of external suppliers providing web design services.

·         Advise internal stakeholders on design principles and best practice for designing for the web.

·         Perform the role of a trusted advisor on the subject of designing for CSS-based layouts.

·         Contribute to the review and updating of our design guidelines.

·         Ensure design and construction is compliant with our guidelines and processes and that evidence is maintained.

·         Maintain an awareness of developments in web design and development, with a view to continual improvement of the design service.

 

Experience required:

Essential

·         A proven track record of working in a similar role. At least 3 years industry experience.

·         An excellent knowledge of relevant industry standards and recognised best practice approaches in graphical user interface design, accessibility and usability

·         Excellent knowledge of working with the Adobe suite of software products.  Primarily Photoshop and Illustrator. Indesign and Flash experience would be beneficial.

·         Sound experience and understanding of XHTML and CSS.

·         Knowledge of current design trends in web, desktop and mobile

·         Educated to Degree level, or with relevant experience and/or professional qualification.

Desirable

·          Experience of design for print using Adobe Indesign or a similar package
