Wireless Handset Test Engineer (CDMA/GSM) - San Diego We're looking for experienced Wireless Handset Test Engineers for a company based in San Diego, CA. We're looking for experienced wireless handset Test Engineers for a long-term opportunity as a Manpower employee with a local wireless company. Qualified Test Engineers must have experience with wireless technologies across all wireless operating systems and networks, as products you will test are supplied to every wireless carrier in the US. In this role, you will be responsible for testing software for wireless handset devices to ensure that the highest quality products are delivered to our customers. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills in order to develop test plans and automation to meet the aggressive time lines for our time to market needs. The individual must have strong wireless (CDMA and GSM) and wireless carrier OS technical skills. The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed, complex test plans and over the air automation for all wireless devices and transition those plans to the Test Technicians so that the team can define and execute testing within the plan. This position requires the ability to analyze each products capabilities and develop test plans specific to the features unique to the market and specific to the customer's they support. The development of automation is critical to ensure the highest level of test coverage and balance between manual, field and computer testing. As test cases fail and issues are identified, this individual will be responsible for isolating the problems using tools and equipment available for quick troubleshooting to help RD resolve bugs as quickly as possible. You will also assist in prioritizing critical problems impacting product launches. Once a product is deployed to the field, the Test Engineer will be responsible for reproducing reported field issues and help to prioritize and isolate these issues for quick resolution. Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: Determining test approach and planning for each product under test. Developing detailed complex test plans that define each products capabilities to test including customer specific features. Determining pass/fail test criteria. Train Test Technicians on test plan and automation execution. Develop OTA test automation capability. Execute lab and field functional software testing. Prioritize and isolate pre and post launce product issues. Create metrics and test results for all testing conducted. Contribute to the creation of a centralized database for all information storage and sharing. Test Engineers will be responsible for interfacing with team members and external companies from multi-cultural background and worldwide locations. Travel: Domestic and international travel required. Required skills: 2 - 5+ years CDMA/GSM wireless handset testing. 2 - 5+ years thorough knowledge of wireless lab and field testing. 2 - 5+ years thorough knowledge of wireless network and device development. 2 - 5+ years thorough knowledge of product development and system test processes. B.S. degree in engineering, computer science or a related field required. As a Manpower salaried employee, this assignment at a wireless company will include health/dental benefits, 8 paid holidays, and one week of pay each year of employment.
