WM Business Manager recruitment
This function supports the senior management in various aspects of Wealth Management (WM) matters including design and execution of strategic projects and initiatives, risk mitigation, and communication. As Business Manager you will be involved in a wide selection of activities ranging from responding to immediate ad hoc logistics issues, budget planning and reviewing costs, supporting the business setup new products or trade in new jurisdictions, to scoping and implementing strategic longer term complex projects.
The chosen individual needs to be flexible in providing management support to WM senior management or any area of the organisation as required, as well as delivering cross functional short and long term strategic initiatives. The individual would have proven experience in working with operating model structures, business and regulatory changes. The role will be based in Hong Kong and key areas of focus for this role will include:
- Supporting senior management processes – including assistance in preparing senior management presentations, business analysis and strategy sessions, governance and management meetings etc and reporting and tracking of progress against actions
- Provide support in improving measurability of business performance, planning and key initiatives, head count tracking and new business initiatives
- Lead projects related to operating model structures, business and regulatory changes.
- When required, develop, implement, and maintain the Project Management Plan, including the risk management, issue management, milestone deliverables and communication plans
- Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the project lifecycle to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget and that it meets or exceeds expectations. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks. Make adjustments as necessary
- Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members
- Build credibility quickly and manage relationships, coordinating work between cross functional teams, often in different locations
- Lead and facilitate project meetings and workshops
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, logical analysis and apply conceptual thinking. Clearly structured analysis and documentation of requirements and decisions
- Design and report on consolidated budgets and costs
- Ad hoc issues management and resolution
- Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
Our ideal candidates should have the following requisites:
- Relevant degree and significant change experience, demonstrating you’ve run large scale, complex projects across multiple teams and locations
- Minimum 5-10 years of successful track record of delivering within Wealth Management (other Financial Service sectors may be considered)
- Good understanding of how a Wealth Management business operates front to back
- Proactive outlook and proven ability to build strong relationships quickly
- Excellent analytical skills, logical analysis and conceptual thinking
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills in order to liaise with members of the organisation at all levels. The ability to manage key client relationships, build productive working relationships with the Business as well as Logistics functions and be able to prioritise and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment with the capacity to proactively anticipate, identify, prevent and resolve problems is required
- Strong co-ordination and facilitation/negotiation skills, with the ability to manage all aspects of the full programme lifecycle
- Ability to operate and deal with uncertainty in a regularly changing environment, while maintaining structure to decision making activities
- Excellent influencing skills at all levels and across all departments of a banking organisation
- Flexible enough to undertake a variety of assignments as required to support the organisation drive forward which could range from detailed number crunching to preparing high level strategic presentations
- The ability to speak Cantonese and Mandarin would be desirable, although not essential
- Some travel may be required at times.
