WMP (Pooled Funds) Client Service Manager

The WMP group at Wellington is responsible for the business of the firm's non-US institutional funds, known generically as Wellington Management Portfolios or WMP. As of 31 December 2012, these comprised 68 funds offering a variety of investment styles, domiciled in nine different legal jurisdictions. Current assets in WMP funds are approximately $30 billion. As part of continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Distribution Manager to join the team in London. Reporting to the WMP Regional Manager (EMEA) in London, this individual will support the firm's fund business by leading all
distributor-related onboarding, as well as ongoing distribution support. This will require partnering with the Global Relationship Group (GRG), WMP Administration, Legal and
Compliance to ensure that WMP meets the needs of our distribution partners.

Responsibilities will include:

Prospect stage
• Acting as a point of contact for GRG to answer all fund-related enquiries, in order to help assess a particular distributor's requirements and compatibility with WMP, e.g. share classes
(including country registration and tax reporting aspects), dealing procedures and platform compatibility;
• Identifying and highlighting to all internal stakeholders where a distributor's requirements differ from WMP's existing offering, operating models etc., and working with all stakeholders to find solutions;
• Assessing and communicating timelines for implementing solutions to support new distributor requirements.

Onboarding
• Leading all aspects of onboarding new distributors and involving the appropriate internal and external parties as needed. Key elements of distributor onboarding will include:
- coordinating product priorities with GRG;
- facilitating the negotiation of the Distribution Agreement and managing other distributor document processes, e.g. contractual spreadsheets, operating memoranda etc;
- managing the compliance and operational due diligence process;
- ensuring all requirement gaps (e.g. country registration, tax reporting, marketing, platform compatibility needs etc) as identified at the prospect stage, as well as during the onboarding
process, are filled;
- ensuring all relevant accounts are opened in a timely manner;
• Engaging with the broader organization, ensuring that all appropriate parties and functional groups are informed, involved and participating in the onboarding process.

Ongoing distributor support
• Participating in the ongoing due diligence of third-party distribution activities;
• Assisting in identifying and coordinating the development of WMP's third party distribution infrastructure as requirements evolve.

In addition, the WMP Distribution Manager will be expected to lead projects relating to the development of the Intermediary business for WMP.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Strong academic qualifications;
• 10+ years of relevant experience gained within the Investment Management and/or Private Banking industries;
• Demonstrated funds expertise and experience working in a client-facing, project management or operational role related closely to the offering of funds via intermediaries;
• Strong project management skills and client-service orientation;
• The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/issues amid a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
• The ability to synthesize information quickly, and to identify, research and resolve unfamiliar issues;
• Demonstrated leadership ability and strong communication skills.
