WSS Technology – Lead Business Analyst – VP – Based in London recruitment
As a Business analyst on the Global Collateral Engine Program, you will be responsible for working on one or more prioritised projects with responsibility for ensuring that the project deliverables fulfil the business's agreed requirements. This will include analysis documentation of both functional and non-functional business requirements, process modelling, validation of technical deliverables to meet those requirements and strategy to test code developed.
Your will liaison between the lines of business and the Development team. Analyze Business Requirements to understand the business needs and to determine how their applications can best functionally fulfill those needs.
Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built and used to create the appropriate analysis artefacts. Responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring less experienced team member's in general best practices and helping them overcome issues they may encounter.
This role is part of a truly Global Team working on a large multi-year program of development. The Global Collateral Engine (GCE) Program seeks to deliver a strategic operating model to serve our clients needs for financing, lending and liquidity risk management solutions, and to capitalise on 20-30% bsiness growth across all regions. GCE will implement an open architecture with links to key settlement, cash, pricing and reference applications, to provide true integration across all Collateral Products. The technology environment integrates more than 20 open source tools - including Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, Cruise Control, and Maven - into a productivity engine that spans from individual class writing and unit testing to production deployment and monitoring.
Throughout a project the Business Analyst is also responsible for:Progress reporting to the PM, including advice of deviation from plan at earliest opportunity.Ensuring all risks and issues relating to scope and analysis are reported to the PM at the earliest opportunity. Manage these risks and issues as appropriate.Identification and evaluation of new tools and processes which would provide benefit to the teamEnsuring that all re-usable resources and knowledge are stored in the appropriate knowledge base for the benefit of others in the team. This will include items that are not necessarily linked to any single project.Validation and quality control of any business analysis deliverables produced by both external vendors and other members of the team.The Business Analyst is responsible for determining the most appropriate analysis approach to be used for each project, with the agreement of the Project Manager and Technology Manager.The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing the scope of the project overall and the analysis exercise itself, as initially defined by the Business.
This is to ensure that this is clear and must occur prior to requesting funding for the Scoping and Analysis Phase of a project.The Business Analyst, in conjunction with the Project Manager, is responsible for producing estimates of the analysis effort required when requesting funding for the Scoping and Analysis phase of a project
Qualifications
EssentialAdvanced business application and business process knowledge. Advanced knowledge of flow charting and word processing tools.Advanced Business Process Modelling and analysis techniques including production of Use Case Models, detailed Use Cases, Activity Diagrams, State Diagrams and Logical design Models.Business knowledge (some) of Securities (equities and fixed income), Securities Lending, Tri-party Repo, Conventional Debt, Structured Finance, Global Custody, Clearance, Corporate Actions, ADRs, SWIFT, CREST, and Financial information feeds (FTS, Exshare, Bloomberg, Telekurs).Experience on global / multi-site projects including facilitation of workshops with remote participants and rationalisation of regional requirements.Software Development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, RUP, RAD).
