BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
Goldman Sachs Accounting Services Division (ASD) has primary responsibility for the settlement and control of vendor payments and employee Travel and Entertainment expenses on an accurate and timely basis and in accordance with firm policies. Accounting Services works together with all divisions and provides management with expense analysis in order to support firmwide cost control objectives.
Accounting Services is part of the Operations Division of Goldman Sachs and is located in Bangalore, New York and Singapore.
RESPONSIBILIITES
Specifically, the role involves:
• Managing travel and entertainment expenses, and vendor payments for Asia
• People management – career development, year end reviews of team members
• Process exception management – manage failed payments; general ledger breaks, procedures, controls
• Work closely with internal business units on queries and new invoice workflow implementations
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 7-10 years work experience, where a portion of that experience is in Accounts Payable management. The individual should also have 3-5 years people management experience
• Knowledge of accounting / finance and related controls, with an enthusiasm to expand into other areas
• Capability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, self-starting individual with high levels of ownership
MANDATORY SKILLS
• Demonstrates an ability to lead a team of 5+ individuals
• Multiple language requirement – fluency in English and one Asian language (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean)
• Demonstrates ability to apply re-engineering methodologies to processes and execute solutions
• Demonstrate ability to identify inter-relationships and understand the broad impacts of work across the organisation, as well as when to escalate or involve people in the process
• Possesses excellent communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how Operations supports the business, how risk is managed and how controls operate
• Proactively seeks and undertakes appropriate training to further enhance industry knowledge
