Description
Manchester Settlements is responsible for managing the timely settlement of clients trades and ensuring that all pre and post settlement issues are resolved at the earliest opportunity. As some areas have resource in Pune, the Team Leader may need to assist in coordinating requirements across two sites.
A Team Leader within the Settlements department will assist in overseeing a team of people covering various different settlements processes. They are responsible for supervising the functions of c.6-12 people within a team. Supervising workflow and providing technical expertise as well as developing and coaching are primary focuses of this job.
The Team leader role will oversee the team from a process and risk management perspective. Ensuring daily tasks are completed within required deadlines and all procedures and controls met. The Team leader must ensue best practice is adhered to and that all Audit and Compliance recommendations are employed and risks and potential losses to the organisation are minimised.

Qualifications
Experience:
• Previous experience in a financial services environment is preferred but not essential.
• The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record within a senior level role within a team, ideally gained within Settlements. They will be expected to demonstrate success in improving existing processes and developing their previous teams capabilities.
• The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate very strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be a good motivator of staff. They will be able to show that they have taken personal responsibility for their own personal and professional development.
• The successful applicant will have demonstrated an ability to make potentially complex decisions under pressure of time, preferably in a highly regulated environment. Analytical thinking will be a key competence in managing process improvement within your team and developing solutions to issues while maintaining close attention to detail.
• The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate instances of motivating others as well as giving timely, appropriate feedback to others.

Reports directly to the Section Manager, who in turn reports to the Group Manager.
