Asia Trading Manager - Middle Distillates, Oil, Jet, Gasoil, Energy, Physical Derivatives Trading, SE Asia focus, Location; Asia - Singapore:
We are currently working with a growing player in the oil industry, based in Singapore, who are seeking a senior experienced Head middle distillates trader to lead their desk in the Singapore office. The incumbent will be responsible for building out the middle distillates platform and capabilities of the group in line with its expansion initiatives. The candidate should have a good specific knowledge of this market and should have some key experience in the following;
Responsibilities
• Extensive experience trading middle distillates (Gasoil, Jet)
• Exposure to risk management – must demonstrate have managed risk.
• In tandem with physical role extensive experience in risk management, specializing in middle distillates markets
• Proprietary trading across the distillates / associated products space
• Hedging of Oil and products derivatives for physical pipeline
• Strong Physical / Derivatives Commodity Knowledge
• Physical arbitrage business and intra-Asia business leveraged by Derivatives trading (Sing Gasoil, E/W, Regrade, FFA)
• Defining trading strategies across the barrel and managing associated risk, alignment with worldwide trading
• Handle business development to enhance the companies presence regionally
• Position taking – financial instruments
• Work well within a global team / liaise with supporting teams
• Drive existing business / relationships with major players in the industry
• Experience working in a trading house and / or financial institution
• Be willing to be based in Singapore
• Must have current / prior experience dealing with the APAC region
• Be prepared for travelling to drive business forward.
Qualifications
• Must Speak English, Mandarin is a plus as you will be dealing with the Asian region.
• 8-10 + years of Industry experience in a commercially focused role
• Master degree in chemical engineering and or sciences
• Proven ability to understand and manage risk associated with a large Physical book
• Strong risk appetite discipline
• SnD Analysis
• Numerical Analytical Skills
