Assistant finance manager

A vacancy has arisen with Hays Financial Services based client in Edinburgh for an Assistant Finance Manager. Hays client are currently working on a project  with a view to improve the financial control process ensure full control and oversight is in place across the finance community.

The purpose of the role is to ensure there are strong controls over Finance ledgers, balance sheet controls, monthly Governance and reporting. Detailed analysis and investigations on the balance sheet and General Ledger will be a significant part of the role and the role holder will ensure full account ownership and reconciliations are put in place.

Responsibilities:

Balance sheet substantiation reconciliation
Analytical review of P L
Awareness of risks, governance and financial reporting regulations
Production of management reports monthly and weekly

Qualifications Key Skills required

• Part or Qualified accountant, experience and financial services highly desirable
• Good understanding of Financial Control processes and governance / audit-related procedures
• Strong data manipulation
• Oracle and SAP general ledger experience
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Self motivated and able to work on own initiative within a specific team remit
