Assistant Underwriter – Commerical Property recruitment

Due to growth in their UK Commercial Property business, they are now seeking a strong candidate with hands-on experience within the sector that is looking for the next step in their career. The right candidate must have the communication skills to work onmulti team projects with geographically decentralised teams.

Key responsibilities:

* Ensure underwriting quotes are sound and competitive while maintaining attention to client relationships and profitable business
* Monitor underwritten risks and compliance within individual approval authority limits
* Ensure all individual underwriting management procedures, reporting and monitoring systems are operational and as agreed within the risk management function of the company
* Assist branch underwriters with caseload where necessary
* Perform data analysis for clients, senior underwriting management, sales/marketing and actuarial departments by summarizing data resulting in meaningful reports, comparison grids, scorecards, audit planning and result reports
* Develop the underwriting management information reporting
* Work with local chief underwriters to develop plans and coordinate the activities in their respective markets

Key requirements:

* Previous underwriting experience within Commercial Property
* Strong combination of mathematical and communication skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
* Ideally have a university degree with particular focus on math and English
* Highly organised with a strong work ethic
* An understanding and interest in the non-life insurance and reinsurance sectors
