We currently have a vacancy for an analyst in our European Fund Research department. You will manage all technical aspects of fund research including leadership of specific asset classes in markets globally, with responsibility for providing stewardship of analytical quality, surveillance, thought leadership, and criteria development for these asset classes. You will be the primary research interface to market (media and clients) on related matters. You will provide high quality ratings and reports that will be released to the external market.

Responsibilities:

· Provide primary analytical coverage of funds as scheduled by team head, conducting rating reviews in accordance with the required timelines and responsibilities expected of a primary analyst. Preparation, accuracy of report content, inclusion of useful analytical conclusions and quality of English in report writing all to be completed to standards communicated by FMR management.
· Contribute actively to the delivery of and response to arguments presented at ratings committees in facilitating the resolution of rating decisions. Prepare and present rating recommendations at committee, demonstrate influence, opinion and understanding of criteria and industry trends by questioning and probing, contribute to debates, provide alternative points of view supplemented by robust knowledge of the market or by own independent research, draw conclusions and form opinion through independent thinking.
· Report results of rating committee to groups as required. Deal with groups' comments on rating report in timely and professional manner.
· Remaining abreast of continuous market and product developments within the asset class and applying that knowledge on an ongoing basis to criteria development and influencing analytical perspectives. Maintain integrity of own sectors throughout year and review sector definitions to account for changing market environment.
· Oversee preparation of quants and prep work for relevant sectors.
· Analytical coverage of the asset class with adherence to Standard Poor's reporting regulations and compliance guidelines, Code of Business Ethics and Code of Conduct.
· Research, analyse and write sector overviews.
· Approve new funds presented for coverage by Sales team and conduct out-of-cycle ratings in accordance with agreed delivery dates. Identify opportunities to develop improved/ new products and services and the implementation thereof. Work collaboratively with Product Development and other functions to bring to the market.

Skills

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of investment product offerings in the market globally, with critical thinking and analytical skills in investment product research.
· Prior market experience; could be buy-side or sell-side or other relevant background. Previous related technical research experience managed funds useful but not essential.
· Knowledge of passive funds and/or fund operational due diligence helpful but not essential.
· Keen interest in remaining abreast of continuous market and product developments within the asset class and applying that knowledge on an ongoing basis to criteria development and influencing analytical perspectives.
· Excellent spoken and written English essential. Major European languages helpful.
· Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Finance or a related area with postgraduate study advantageous.
· Communication, negotiation and influencing skills, particularly the ability to ask the right questions and elicit information required.
· Strong relationship management and networking skills to manage internal and external fund manager and wealth manager relationships and successfully promote the SP business. Process and project management skills to successfully manage the volume of deals, processes, and allocation of current and future workflow.
