Markit DIME provides a suite of products designed to give immediate access to the data required for equity derivative trading. This encompasses indices, dividends and ETPs delivered in one validated and cross-referenced feed.
Position summary
The candidate will be involved at the forefront of product initiatives in areas where Markit Group Ltd is a market leader. They will integrate with the DIME programme with the aim of becoming a functional specialist in one or more areas within Dividend Forecasting, Index Management and Electronic Traded Products areas. The role spans the entire project lifecycle, with a focus on functional excellence from the project inception to its delivery:
-Requirement gathering;
-Functional design;
-Test plan creation;
-Test execution; and
-Service delivery.
Duties accountabilities
The initial role will be part of the functional test team in order to build up the necessary product knowledge. Very quickly however, the role will expand onto producing the following areas:
-Business requirements: participating in business reqs meetings and defining Markit’s future products
-Functional design: using UML (activity diagrams) to model required functionality in its entire depth
-Test planning: defining the scenarios required to cover all conditional statements and using expertise to identify edge conditions. Ensuring alignment of the technical provision with business need.
-Test execution: executing the scenarios and having the skills and knowledge necessary to interpret the results and guide the implementation team in continuous improvement of the functional offering.
-Service delivery: organising the product go-live, especially with respect to the coordination of the different teams involved.

Business competencies
Education and experience
- Experience in either BA / requirements gathering or functional test design / execution is required
- Strong science/math degree - red brick university or equivalent is required
- Experience within an ITIL oriented service organization is a plus, although is not explicitly required to apply for the role
Commercial awareness
- Experience working in the financial sector would be an advantage, in particular knowledge of dividends, indices and equities products, although is not explicitly required to apply for the role.
Management requirements
- Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation. As a result, any consultancy background or experience would be strongly preferred, although is not explicitly required to apply for the role.
