Our client, a major financial institution located in Toronto is expanding its Compliance Group to include an AVP - Direct Channels Compliance.
Direct Channels Compliance is a newly established group which will provide regulatory advice and oversight to the North American Direct Channels businesses: Online, Phone and ATM. This position is key toward building a complex Compliance program for Direct Channels. The AVP will lead a team that provides day-to-day Compliance support for the business, particularly around governance, policies and procedures as well as advice.
Qualifications:
Candidates to meet consideration for this newly created opportunity will have the following skill sets and experience:
- Solid background in compliance complete with legal knowledge as the incumbent will be required to understand law and regulation as it applies to the financial services sector;
- Experience dealing with regulators;
- Proven success in putting a compliance regime in place;
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian and international financial industry legislation;
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills;
- Strong leadership/mentoring skills.
