Our client, a multinational Bank in expansion mode is seeking to employ a member of The Non Standard Credit team.
The Non Standard Credit team is responsible for arrears cases which fall outside the cases managed by the main operating model. Within this team controllers manage a selection of special cases, (such as ill health, acrimonious separation, financial hardship, death) and other non-standard requests to include borrower and security amendments (such as service charges, transfer of equity, security amendments, term extensions, endowment shortfall, Solicitor title issues, Geared Pensions) and may also deal with a final review of pre-legal cases. In managing individual portfolios, appropriate provision levels must be considered.
- Deal promptly and efficiently with all queries that are submitted to the team and manage the borrower relationship in a professional manner in a case ownership situation.
- Assessing the seriousness of client’s circumstances and protecting the most vulnerable clients.
- Special cases, liaising with clients with ill-health, acrimonious separations, probate and any other cases that fall outside of the normal collections process. Where appropriate, validate information provided.
- Non- standard cases, liaising with borrowers, solicitors and auctioneers to ensure that actions on these cases are both in the bank and borrowers best interest and that all options are given due consideration.
- Review, analyse all relevant documentation, communications, case notes.
- Liaise and work where appropriate with other departments, Compliance, Legal, Customer Services, Deeds and New Business
- To submit requests to Credit Committee proposing case actions (including additional provisioning as required) and providing update/flash reporting of case situations as necessary.
- Where appropriate to manage the client back into a paying relationship with the Bank.
- Contacting clients directly to make arrangements to recover the arrears
- Prioritising cases with particular attention being given to higher risk cases to reduce the risk to the company.
- Ensuring all dealings with clients and third parties are in line with Customer Charter and all appropriate Codes and Legislation.
- Ensuring adherence to the Collections Department’s Departmental Procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience at administrator level.
- Experience and knowledge of the mortgage arrears process.
- Strong research and administrative skills to ensure customer requests are resolved promptly and efficiently where appropriate.
- High level of numeracy, good organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
- High level of motivation, be customer focused and have the ability to work on their own initiative.
- Strong administration/letter writing skills and the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to deal with customers in a confident and professional manner where required.
- Excellent PC skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, E Mail).
