Our client, a multinational Bank in expansion mode is seeking to employ The Arrears Support Unit Collections Officer.
The Arrears Support Unit Collections Officer will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of Residential Mortgages within the Collections area.
- Achieving monthly/quarterly targets for CBI Mars Resolution options on cases 90 days
- Manage a portfolio of cases to ensure that recovery is maximised
- Ensure that cases are escalated in accordance with escalation guidelines
- Contacting borrowers directly to make arrangements to recover outstanding mortgage arrears.
- Prioritising cases with particular attention being given to higher risk cases to reduce the risk of loss to the company.
- Working closely with the Legal Dept. Late Arrears Teams and the Permanent Closures Restructuring Team to ensure enforcement actions are progressed in a timely manner.
- Reviewing clients Standard Financial Statements and making recommendations to Underwriting Teams regarding same.
- Ensuring all dealings with borrowers are in line with the Customer Charter and all appropriate Codes and Legislation.
- Ensuring adherence to the Collections Department’s Departmental Procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a Collections environment preferably related to residential mortgage lending.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of debt collection and enforcement processes. Knowledge of the legal Process would be an advantage.
- Can demonstrate solution based thinking and excellent commercial awareness
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the competency to work both on an individual basis and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to demonstrate initiative and to deal with problems urgently.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- APA minimum, full QFA preferable.
