Book/Stock Analyst recruitment
The Company
My client is one of the worlds leading independent academic and professional publishers.
Due to expansion they are now seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic analyst to join a team of professionals within Finance who will be providing first class reporting and analysis support to books editorial, Finance and other areas in the business.
The Role
Helping finance to understand the performance of books business.
Working closely with the Associate Director of Books Editorial and the editorial team to provide reporting and analysis support.
This will include supporting the editorial team in putting together books PL for new titles, analysis and identify sales trend for books, develop and analyse books profitability.
Reporting and analysis of stock movement and balances, assist to manage and control inventory level.
Review and improve book ordering decisions to achieve optimum quantities ordered.
Manage the inter-company books ordering and returning process.
Planning and forecasting of inter-company books purchase and selling.
Assist Finance team during monthly reporting, annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and quarterly board reporting process.
The candidate:
Degree-level academic qualification or professional equivalent.
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills and good understanding of database.
Good communication skills, able to work with people at all levels, able to present effectively the analysis and findings to senior management.
Good understand of accounting concept (P/L, Balance Sheet, Costing)Positive attitude, customer focus and a good team player.
Salary Benefits
The role will be paying in the region of £30,000-£40,000

Minimum 2:1 degree
Advanced Excel skills and a good understanding of database (for example, Microsoft Access).
Experience in Cognos will be an advantage but not essential.
Good understand of accounting concept, able to understand the impact of stock movement and work in progress on Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, able to understand costing, FIFO concepts and overhead allocation.
