Branch Manager, Futures First (Kenya) Limited, and Head of Capital Markets, Kenya

Responsible to build the branch platform into a profitable business that grows on a sustainable basis, as well as for all related roles: to include recruiting and hiring top talent, providing a rigorous entry-level training program, developing analyst skills on a continuing basis, and managing individual and branch risk.

 

Second, to promote the quality of market research across the 10-year old Futures First network of over 600 analysts in branch offices in China, India, Israel, Romania, and Hungary that engages in over 20 international financial exchanges in over 100 products. 

 

Finally, to contribute to the global commitment of Futures First to bring global opportunities to local developing markets to hire, train, and develop the brightest local talent to success as professional markets analysts.

 

Desired skills and experience

·         A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, to include over 5 years of experience in proprietary trading, preferably in grains futures or in commodities markets or other asset classes at an agricultural merchandiser or commodities company or hedge fund or international exchange or research/analysis institute or investment bank in a major commodities or financial center such as London, Paris, NY, Chicago, Frankfurt, or Dubai.

·         Demonstrated/proven manager skills at scale in a markets-related environment, preferably in proprietary trading in derivatives in commodity markets in a major commodities-related or financial services company in a major financial or commodities center.  OR demonstrable interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills and maturity that give credence to potential for learning and excelling at such management roles at scale.

·         Proven commercial success in markets-related businesses at scale, and proven ability to build/improve the quality and scale of a proprietary trading business onto a steepening profitability trajectory, especially in an emerging markets environment.

·         Kenyan residency or foreign residency with ties in Kenya and willingness to change residency to Nairobi.
