Business Analyst
The primary focus of this role will be to lead analysis across a variety of projects in the OTC and FX areas as part of a newly formed IB FX/OTC OPS IT department. The successful candidate will work across a number of systems and be the primary FX SME for the EMEA region. They will help develop solutions to a wide range of business problems across FX and OTC Operations, leveraging both existing and new components of the architecture.
They will work directly with the SMEs for OTC and FX to ensure all projects are inline with the department strategy. They will also be expected to contribute to this strategy as their subject matter expertise grows.
The ideal candidate will be able to engage at an appropriate level with both the business and IT teams to understand the true nature of the requirement, then develop functional solutions to the problem and to gain agreement and backing of the stakeholder community.
Business Analysts within the team are expected to take full, end-to-end responsibility for solution quality and smooth delivery. Typical tasks will include functional analysis, systems analysis, work planning, dependency management, coordination, front to back testing and implementation QA tasks as required. The ideal candidate should have a strong and diverse range of analysis skills and be flexible in their approach.
- Working closely with the business representatives and SMEs to understand business needs and capability gaps.
- Leads stakeholders to agreement on functional solutions
- Communicates ideas clearly and unambiguously
- Applies analytical tools to shape and bound work
- Defines complete functional solutions, including - main system flows, edge cases, required data elements, UI behavior, exception handling
- Documents requirements and functionality in a clear and concise way
- Supports development and QA teams to understand solution and context
- Significant experience in IT Business Analysis
- Ability to apply structured, logical and analytical thought process to resolving issues
- Strong communication skills (Written, Oral Presentation)
- Willing to execute a wide variety of tasks in order to enhance team department delivery
- Structured, methodical approach
- Sensitive to firm procedures and controls
- The Ability to work in a global organisation across multiple timezones
- SQL Excel skills - ability to be self sufficient analysing data without developer involvement
- Project Management experience
Desirable Experience:
- Familiar with Settlement concepts, processes and controls
- Good understanding of the end to end Cash Management processes (ie. Cash Generation, Settlements, Cash Control functions)
- Ability to apply structured, logical and analytical thought process to resolving issues
- SQL Excel
- Degree in computer science or similar
- BA Certification is highly desirable
