Business Analyst/ Application Support – Asset Management recruitment
Our client is a global asset management organization that is updating and upgrading their operations and technology in Hong Kong in line with a Asia Pac expansion of the business.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Reporting directly to the global head of applications based in Europe.
- Working as part of the business team in close collaboration with portfolio management, research analysts and macro analysts.
- To be responsible for delivery of technology solutions for the business, understanding specific needs and requirements for the buy-side industry in Hong Kong.
- Management of small to medium projects for the business such as application implementation, spreadsheet automation and data projects.
- Being part of the BAU follow the sun application support team responsible for batch cycles, resolving issues and SQL queries.
- Being the vision for further expansion in Asia and being involved with strategic planning.
Requirements of the role:
- 10+ years technology background with an excellent understanding of the buy-side industry in asset management or hedge fund.
- Must have previously worked for an asset management or hedge fund organization responsible for supporting their applications.
- A broad range of functional role experience covering small to medium project management, business analysis and production support.
- Career stability with proven background of committing to long term business initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and be credible as the single point of contact for application technology in Hong Kong.
- Technical experience with database especially SQL queries and Oracle. Any Unix or scripting experience would be advantageous.
- This opportunity would be a very good match for a senior application support professional with project management and business analysis experience that has a passion for investing and furthering their business knowledge directly with the portfolio managers.
- CFA qualifications would be considered a plus.
