Business Analyst, Governance (12 Month fixed term contract)
The Team
The Governance team within Market Risk Management is responsible for the Group's Market Risk Framework, operation of the internal governance model, addressing local and overseas regulatory issues and general administration of the department.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Governance you will support the Market Risk Governance team in the efficient operation of key management committees and forums, identification, tracking (and closure) of actions and issues, including self-identified items and matters raised by Internal Audit and APRA. The role will also support the Senior Executive Manager in responding to domestic and offshore regulatory issues relating to the management of market risk across the group.
Interacting closely with senior executives across the Group, the role calls for a person possessed of self-confidence, a willingness to speak up and good personal organisation. This position is an integral member of a small team in a role that should be regarded as an entry point into Risk Management and the Markets' environment.
Main Duties
- Assisting with the smooth running of Market Risk Governance meetings and committees, including preparing agendas, performing quality assurance on papers and, as Committee Secretary, keeping and publishing minutes
- Maintenance of the Market Risk sections of the Risk Intranet Site
- Assisting with business continuity planning and testing
- Documenting and updating market risk processes and operational risk profiles
- Assisting with the running of Market Risk Management's Control Assurance Program by maintaining key process and control documentation and performing controls testing in terms of agreed procedures
- Developing sound working knowledge of prudential requirements impacting on the management of market risk and applying knowledge to the ongoing development of the Bank's market risk frameworks
Experience Required
- Tertiary qualification in commerce or business
- Sound skills in MS tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access database querying tools
Desirable or Preferred
- Knowledge of financial market products and concepts
- Experience in a dealing, trading or funds management environment
