Responsibilities
North American Business Development is charged with the responsibility of knowing the investment agenda of the US and Canadian institutional market of investors and bringing in additional assets for the firm to manage. Americas Institutional Group is searching for a Business Development Manager to work within the America Pensions Team which includes, the Public Fund, Corporate, Endowment and Foundations, Defined Contribution and Taft-Hartley marketplace for the Southeast and Central regions.
The person in this position will be responsible for developing investment programs to meet the needs of the above referenced market. The new Business Developer will also work in close partnership with the Relationship Management and Consultant Relations teams to ensure that we are properly covering all available opportunities in this important market.
Qualifications
The individual should have a minimum of ten years of experience within the investment industry and have a solid understanding of the needs of institutional investors. The individual should also have a solid background in equity and fixed income investing. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with preference given to candidates with a CFA designation, currently working toward a CFA designation, or graduate level degree.
It is a position that requires a great deal of teamwork. The individual should be capable of handling a large number of prospects with a variety of needs. Initiative, creativity, persistence, and consultative selling skills are particularly important in this role. The position will require the individual to travel extensively.
