Position Description:
The Business Development Research Group (BDR) focuses on transforming data into business intelligence so that key decision makers can make informed business decisions. The group gathers and analyzes data and deduces trends. Our areas of responsibility include competitive positioning, prospect research, marketplace trend analysis, and the reporting of business operating metrics.

PIMCO's BDR Group is seeking a Business Development Reporting Analyst/Associate. This role resides in the Institutional Business Group (IBG) and is a hands-on client relationship and sales data management position that requires experience working with data and analytic s supporting processes. The candidate will interface with critical internal business partners to support data needs/requests and conduct research as well as work on other strategic research initiatives supporting the Institutional Business Group.

Position Responsibilities
• Track business results (e.g. opportunities, finals meetings, won/lost business). Report sales trends and business results to senior management.
• Work with Account Managers on the Business Development Team to ensure that all wins and flows are accounted for, and that metrics are accurate and up-to-date.
• Work with the PIMCO CRM team to resolve technology issues related to IBG business activity metrics and implement strategic initiatives that will benefit Account Managers sales functions.
• Utilize the firm's proprietary and external analytical tools (e.g. eVestment Alliance, Morningstar EnCorr/Direct, and Mercer MPA) to respond to internal and external (client, prospect, and consultant) inquiries.
• Work with Product Management to track competitors across PIMCO products and report competitor intelligence to Client Facing Team.
• Create new reporting templates and proactively improve existing processes and reports and automate functions.

Position Requirements:
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of software applications in general, including but not limited to index provider databases; query tools and Bloomberg.
• Experience with Visual Basics for Application (VBA) and/or SQL skills to efficiently query data and streamline reporting is desired.
• Knowledge of and interest in financial markets; fixed income, equities and alternative investment products.
• Focus on specific, ambitious goals and demonstrate a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results.
• Possess strong communication skills and exhibit ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel in both written and verbal communications
• Qualified candidate has demonstrated problem solving skills, enjoys analytical reasoning and independent research projects.
• Prospective candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in Finance or Economics. Candidates should also have their Series 7 and 63 licenses or be able to obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment
