Business Operations and Oversight – Analyst/Manager recruitment
• To work with the Global Investment Solutions team on a day-to-day basis in the supervision of discretionary high net worth business.
• Conduct day-to-day oversight tasks such as monitoring trades, resolving breaches of client restrictions, composite performance calculations and various other management information reporting.
• To co-ordinate and jointly conduct Group’s review program of discretionary managers in London, Zurich and the US
• To write up findings and follow up with discretionary managers. To investigate / action items raised in the reviews.
• To conduct ad hoc investment and regulatory based monitoring including matters arising from daily trading for the discretionary business on business, compliance and legal issues and work with branch administration, operations and law division personnel on issues and resolutions.
• To assist in the planning and implementation of effective procedures and controls within the GIS Discretionary business in London
• To develop a wide understanding of GIS discretionary business with the aim of developing the management of day to day enquiries from members of staff and clients and assist in problem-solving on a broad number of issues relating to the discretionary business
Skills Required
• The candidate should be a strong self-starter with a good degree of motivation and enthusiasm and come from a business implementation, compliance, audit, risk or operational risk background with experience in private wealth business. An understanding of the implementation of discretionary portfolios and the risk issues it raises will be favorable
• The candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent and a professional / post-graduate qualification would also be of interest. A law degree or legal background is preferable.
• The role requires a professional approach, with the ability to work with staff at all levels of the business and ensure that firm standards are met. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and the desire to progress their career in the management team in due course.
• The role reports to the head of the GIS Control team on a day-to-day working capacity and will require the candidate to assist the CIO and team on reviews and ad hoc business.
• The candidate should be a registered person or CFA equivalent. The candidate may also be encouraged to take the Securities Institute Regulation and Compliance paper for the Securities Institute Diploma as a key piece of developmental training.
