Capital Markets Application Systems Engineer 2
The position is in Equity Derivatives Trading technology group. Even though this is a technical job, the candidate is required to have sound business knowledge and hand-on experience working with traders. This position is mainly for front-end GUI development of trading, risk and analytic applications.
The responsibilities include
Design, develop, implement, test, support and maintain software solutions to meet business requirements.
Write functional documents and design technical specifications.
Work closely with business users, technology groups, program management, product management, quality analysts on the preparation of test cases.
Test software through unit testing, test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification, fixing, and resolution.
Maintain full project life-cycle tasks, such as business and technical analysis, designing, coding, testing, and implementation plans.
Conduct code reviews with team members to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development.
Analyze application for data integrity issues.
Maintain all system diagrams, system interface charts and any other compliance policy and procedure documents.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years experience in application development and implementation and 4+ years experience in the securities industry.
Minimum Qualifications
The job regularly has application development responsibilities that require: 1) working knowledge of mathematical modeling constructs substantially similar to one, or more, of the following (either as an individual contributor or in leading others): advanced mathematical concepts, such as financial engineering/advanced calculus/statistical modeling/concepts of probability; theoretical pricing characteristics, e.g., the Greeks; and/or expertise in developing technology in support of multiple, complex risk and/or pricing models which require ongoing evaluation based on market fluctuations, such as VaR, Counterparty Potential Future Exposure, stochastic modeling, derived market data and stress testing; 2) extensive experience in the capital markets business and processes, e.g., pricing of derivatives, trade lifecycle, electronic trading/algorithmic trading; and 3) working knowledge of SEC, FNRA and International Regulations in building technological solutions.
7+ years of experience in developing applications using .NET, C#, WinForms.
5+ years working experience, preferably in Capital Markets/Trading.
3+ years of experience in developing application using WPF and MVVM
Technical Requirements
In-depth knowledge of .NET, C#, WinForms, WPF, MVVM.
Experience in developing and using WCF services.
Understanding of memory management, garbage collection, multi-threading and asynchronous programming.
Understanding of LINQ
Working knowledge of Equities Trading and FIX interface.
Experience in full Software Development Lifecycle.
Troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Experience in using memory profilers.
Business Requirements
Working knowledge of equity and equity derivative (options, futures, etc.) securities.
Willing to learn about different financial instruments in order to effectively converse with the trading desks.
Preferred Skills
BS in Computer Science or related field (MS or MBA preferred).
Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Analytical problem solving skills.
Attention to detail and thoroughness a must.
