Department Description

The Global Emerging Markets (GEM) Business trades and structures Interest Rate, FX, Credit and Equity products across the EMEA and Latin American Emerging Markets. In the EMEA region "offshore" trading is centred in London with local offices in Moscow, Johannesburg and Istanbul.

JPMorgan is the market leader across these areas and has been a key driver behind the ongoing growth and development of the Global Emerging Markets in recent years. As a result of this continued pace of expansion and growth the Middle Office needs to continue to adapt and provide innovative solutions to business problems and maintain a strong control framework across the Region.

There are three main areas within GEM - Structured Products, Corporate credit trading and the Sovereign Markets trading team.

Key Responsibilities

- Daily production of pl using JPM proprietary tools - pl consists of CDS, fixed income, OTC IR derivates, Foreign Exchange, Exchange traded derivatives, Equities, TRS, bonds and repo
- Explanation of pl into explain components / greeks and understanding of this process including ability to discuss this with a trader

- Close interaction with the London traders - assisting them with ad-hoc questions with respect to pl risk.
- Ownership and/or involvement in new business development from the operations perspective
- Involvement in most operational areas, including; confirmations, settlements, FX trade out.
- Ownership of month-end close out of designated traders and/or products to general ledger.

Qualifications:

Skills Experience

- A working knowledge or theoretical understanding of multiple products, including (IRS, FX, Equities, Bonds, Credit Derivatives, Loans, Treasury deposits) from both a valuation and risk perspective

- An interest or appreciation of Emerging Markets and how they operate
- Relevant financial services experience - i.e. performed similar rates trading / CDS pl bookrunner role
- Strong communication and ability to deal with conflict situations (i.e. working with traders)
- Experience and advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Access. Preferably VBA.
